On paper at least, the Super Bowl matchup between Seattle and New England should make for a great game, pitting the Seahawks’ stifling defense against the Patriots’ high-powered offense. Although Las Vegas has New England as slight favorites, the oddsmakers see it as a very close matchup, giving the Patriots just a one-point edge. A game that close could easily turn out to be one of the greatest Super Bowls ever.
If the Patriots do win, Tom Brady will join Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw as the only quarterbacks to have won four Super Bowls. If Seattle repeats as champions, the NFL will have a potential new dynasty to celebrate. And if the game does end up being as close as the matchup suggests, football fans (and the NFL and NBC) will end up winners, too. Otherwise, we might all just feel like someone took a little air out of us.
