Here’s one solution to overspending during the holidays: Make more money.

While that may sound easier said than done, it may not be as tough as you think to find extra work this time of year — you just have to know where to look.

Historically, seasonal workers would find the most opportunities in retail, but as more shoppers make their purchases online there’s a growing opportunity for jobs in the transportation and warehouse sectors, according to a new report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

“Holiday job seekers should not stop looking for opportunities, even though it is December,” Challenger, Gray & Christmas Chief Executive Officer John Challenger said in a statement. “They must cast a wider net to include employers outside of the retail sector. However, even retailers continue to add throughout the holidays, as high turnover in the industry requires nearly-constant recruiting activities.”

Last December, retailers added 134,509 workers, and transportation and warehousing employment increased by 136,600. The gap between the sectors may grow even larger this year.

Retailers added 9.3 percent fewer new jobs this November than they did last year, marking a six-year low in retail hiring for the month. Meanwhile, transportation and warehousing added 35 percent more job in November 2016 than in 2015.

Seasonal work can also lead to longer-term employment. More than 85 percent of companies surveyed by the job search engine Snagajob this year said that they’d consider hiring seasonal workers for full-time work.
