11 Incredible New Cars from the LA Auto Show

Volkswagen

The Los Angeles Auto Show opens to the public today, and not surprisingly in this green city, the focus is sustainability: cars that get better gas mileage or run on high efficiency diesel fuel or electricity. Car executives touted new vehicles that were cleaner and greener, yet didn’t sacrifice style and performance.

Audi unveiled diesel versions of its A6, A7, A8 and Q5. Mazda is also putting a diesel into its Mazda 6. Ron Kogan, editor of Green Car Journal, presented the Green Car of the Year Award to the 2013 Ford Fusion. The award is given to cars that not only get great fuel economy, but also appeal to the masses. Ford also unveiled its 2014 Ford Fiesta, with a 3 liter engine that it hopes will be certified as the most fuel-efficient, non-hybrid car available in the U.S.
