On December 3, the Congressional Budget Office published a report on immigration policy in the U.S.

On November 30, the Center for Immigration Studies published an analysis of the DREAM Act, which would require states to grant in-state tuition to many currently illegal aliens. It estimates that this will increase state higher education costs by $6 billion per year, which would not be reimbursed by the federal government.

On November 22, the Center for Immigration Studies published a study of immigration and the labor market. It finds that although there was less immigration in the last decade than in the previous decade, the impact was more severe because fewer jobs were created in the former than in the latter.

On November 18, McClatchy reported that Republicans plan legislation to deny birthright citizenship even though it is unambiguously guaranteed by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

In a November 17 NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, people were asked whether they favor a proposal to allow illegal immigrants holding jobs here to be granted temporary-worker status and remain here legally. Only 43 percent favored the idea, 55 percent were opposed.

On November 8, the Census Bureau published a report on remittances from foreigners living in the U.S. to friends and relatives still living in other countries.

On October 29, the Congressional Research Service published a report on immigration issues in the 111th Congress.

On October 28, the CRS issued a report on foreign born scientists and engineers in the U.S. labor force. It finds that a very substantial percentage of all the doctorates in science and engineering went to foreigners.

On October 27, the CRS published a report on unauthorized alien students and the DREAM Act.
