The Google Vanity Ploy

Perhaps one of the most famous desperate job seekers was Alec Brownstein, a copyediting contender bought $6 worth of Google ads in May 2010 to directly solicit five chief creative officers at major advertising firms for a job. His ads landed him four interviews and a job offer at Y&R New York. Which leads us to the question, why were all these creative directors Googling themselves? Watch Brownstein’s video here.
