The Government's $11 Billion One-Week Spending Spree

Federal agencies spent $11 billion last week — “a ‘use it or lose it’ spending frenzy” in the final days of the fiscal year, Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of OpenTheBooks.com, writes at Forbes. President Trump’s office spent $6.2 million on electrical hardware and supplies and about half a million dollars each on furniture and tents or tarps. In all, the government spent $83.4 million on furniture, $23 million worth on office supplies, more than $10 million on passenger vehicles, $7.3 million on guns, ammunition and other weapons and $3.5 million on clothing and footwear.
