Winners & Losers in Business 2012

This year, The Fiscal Times has joined thousands of other media sites in listing our Winners & Losers of 2012. Our first list, Winners & Losers in Politics included some notable names and history-making moments.  Remember Sandra Fluke vs. Rush Limbaugh?

Our list today covers a few highlights in the business world.  We stayed away from the big banks—most of them paid out big bucks in lawsuits, which makes them losers.  But their stock prices, especially Citigroup and Wells Fargo, have made most of them winner.

One of the biggest losers was HP, but we couldn't find a hardware company that we could call a winner.

TFT’s Winners & Losers of 2012 lists will be 5 in all, and we’ll roll them out over the next few days.  Please add your comments and choices to ours. We’ll include the best ideas from our readers and extend each list.

Meanwhile, from all of us at TFT, to all our “winning readers,” we wish you a Happy New Year.
