12 Startups Looking to Profit from Aging Boomers

SingFit Silver & Gold

Founders: Rachel Francine, age 43, and Andy Tubman (wouldn't reveal his age).
Launched: January, 2011
Mission: Francine and Tubman absorbed the health and wellness benefits of singing from their father, an opera singer, who is 76 and in excellent health. SingFit, a digitized music app, provides an easier way for senior care facilities to get residents to sing through a simple “listen and repeat” program. The app brings a virtual music therapist to any facility or home-caregiving environment, intended to help anyone, but especially those experiencing cognitive decline.
Revenue stream: The app is free, and includes a small selection of songs. For access to all the available songs, there is a $4.99 per month subscription. The company also charges senior living facilities to train staff to use the program.
