Clinton vs. Bush—Who Had the Better Speech?

Reuters

Two possible presidential candidates kicked off their official campaigns with dramatic—and by most measures successful speeches over the past 3 days.  Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in 2016 wowed a large supportive crowd on Saturday in New York City by hitting all the high notes of the Democratic base—income inequality, immigration reform, and a general dismissal of all things Republican. Jeb Bush also comforted the Republican base by saying he would return more power to the states on key issues and more decision making to parents on education. But he ignored his rivals for the nomination and took on Washington as the source of America’s problems. And he broke rank with his party by saying he would be the president to resolve the immigration crisis—and not by presidential fiat.
