The current Occupy Wall Street protests, which were begun by a ragtag group of demonstrators on September 17, 2011, in downtown New York City, have spread across the country – and the unions have now lent their muscle to the protests against economic inequality. “We’re in it together, and we’re in for the long haul,” said one member of the United Auto Workers.
