Built in 2007 to house first-year engineering and honors students, each climate-controlled single or double room comes with its own bathroom. The building also houses the 44,000-square-foot Dining Commons, which seats 700 and offers students the choice of theme menus like Mongolian Grill, Sizzling Salads, Tex Mex, Stone Hearth Pizza, and six other selections. A fireside lounge lets them study and chat around a roaring hearth during those nippy Colorado winters, and there’s no more waiting around in the laundry room—the high-tech washer-dryers let students check online how long it will be until a machine frees up.
