Veep (2012-Present)
England’s master political satirist Armando Iannucci brought his merciless sensibilities to American politics (something he dabbled in quite memorably with “In The Loop”) teaming with an excellent Julia Louis-Dreyfus to create the show that horrifyingly presents what many insiders refer to as the most accurate depiction of D.C. politics they have seen. "Veep" eschews the noir conventions and Shakespearean villainy of "House of Cards" for a picture of D.C. as a giant high-school full of petty, overeducated children more concerned with status and avenging perceived slights than actually helping their constituents. Sound familiar?
