GOP Tax Plan Not Doing Well at the Polls

A CBS News poll released Thursday confirms what other surveys have been saying for some time: The Republican tax plan is not popular with the general public.

While most Republicans support the tax plan in this and other polls, the country as a whole disapproves – in this case, by 53 percent, with just 35 percent approving.

A substantial majority of respondents said that the GOP tax bill will benefit large corporations (76 percent) and wealthy Americans (69 percent), while a minority thought it would help the middle class (31 percent) or their families (24 percent).
