It's being hawked as the last cupcake from Crumbs Bake Shop, and it could be yours…if the bid is right.

Following news that gourmet cupcake seller Crumbs closed all of its stores Monday, an enterprising eBay seller listed one of the company's birthday cupcakes for $250.

Bid on this still-delicious soon-to-be relic, and you'll be able to tell your grandchildren that you devoured the last Crumbs cupcake," the listing reads.

While Brian Murray, the dessert's seller and the director of talent and culture at Likeable Media, said in a phone interview that he can't be sure the cupcake is the last one available, he assumes most people that purchased one Monday have already eaten them.

Murray's colleague suggested listing it after news of the Crumbs closure broke Monday night. For the past three or four years, the social media marketing agency has celebrated staff birthdays with the dessert. After the last birthday party, one cupcake remained in the fridge.

"A couple of us were laughing and saying, "What do we do with the cupcake to immortalize it?" said Murray of his office's tongue-and-cheek Crumbs debate.

The listing, which evokes memories of the scramble for Twinkies following its maker's decision to liquidate, has generated about 1,850 views and one bid, Murray said. "I'm surprised we got $250, but the internet's a crazy place," he added.

Murray says the team will use the proceeds for an office party, a catered lunch or some other fun activity.

Bidding ends Friday for those interested.
