Fireworks on July 4: Risking Life and Limb for Fun

The fun and excitement of the Fourth of July can often turn into pain or tragedy, unfortunately.

This year, injuries from fireworks could get worse if recent trends continue: Last year, between June 21 and July 21, 240 people every day, on average, ended up in emergency rooms with fireworks-related injuries. That was up from 200 a day the previous year.

This infographic below from the Consumer Product Safety Commission looks at who gets injured from fireworks and how. Interestingly, those most injured by fireworks are people in the 25-to-44 age range.
