While the cost of living in Rhode Island is higher than the national average, it’s lower than other New England states. Its small size makes it easy to get around and access the cultural amenities in Providence or Newport. Of the five areas of well-being measured in the report, Rhode Island’s older residents scored the best on physical well-being.
